The Student Organisation Capacity Building Programme (PPK Ormawa) is run by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. Through it, student organisations propose an empowerment plan for one village or urban ward, receive funding, and carry it out together with a supervising lecturer and local partners.
The Abdidaya Ormawa Awards are where that programme leads — a national forum where every implementing team brings together the results of its work and is recognised for it. What is judged here is not the proposal but what actually happened in the field.
Four clusters, eight topics
Every team works in one of four clusters:
- Education
- Economy
- Health
- Environment
The clusters are broken down into eight more specific empowerment topics:
- Conservation and disaster-resilient villages
- Entrepreneurial villages
- Smart farming
- Healthy villages
- Smart villages
- Maritime villages
- Forest villages
- Tourism villages
These topics are used to filter the team directory and to organise the seminar classes.
The road to Makassar
Not every funded team takes part in the Awards. Participants are selected in several stages on the following national schedule:
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| Guidelines published | August 2026, week 2 |
| Briefing | August 2026, week 3 |
| Implementation Progress Assessment (PKP) | September 2026, week 2 |
| Candidate verification | 24–25 September 2026 |
| Participants announced | 5 October 2026 |
| Poster & video upload | By 15 October 2026 at 16.00 WIB |
| Awards event | 21–25 October 2026 |
The announcement was issued on 5 October 2026 in letter No. 3773/DST/B2/DT.01.01/2026: 120 teams from 60 universities passed, and all of them are now listed in the participant directory.
What is assessed
Award recipients are decided from five data sources:
- Analysis of the activity and financial logbooks
- Analysis of social media publications
- The online National PPK Ormawa Implementation Progress Assessment (PKP)
- Analysis of the verification questionnaire
- Analysis of programme implementation verification
The tally gives 30% weight to the logbook and 70% to the National PKP. The names that emerge are then verified through online interviews and field observation before being confirmed. The full description is in How Recipients Are Chosen.
Forms of recognition
There are 171 awards in 45 categories across eight assessment groups — from Implementing Teams, Student Organisations, Supervising Lecturers, and Universities to Sustainability Partners, Posters, Videos, and Expo Booths.
Recipients receive a certificate and a medal. For the Implementing Team, Student Organisation, Poster, Video, and Expo Booth categories, recognition also includes development funding. Details of each category and its number of awards are in Award Categories.
