The Abdidaya Ormawa 2026 Awards are hosted by Universitas Muslim Indonesia, founded in Makassar on 23 June 1954 and since grown into one of the oldest Islamic universities in eastern Indonesia.
Being the host means preparing the whole programme, 21–25 October 2026, for delegations from every corner of the archipelago: exhibition space for hundreds of posters and programme outputs, seminar classes, the stage for the awards night, and everything that goes with them — accommodation, transport, and the hospitality that makes guests feel at home.
The values it carries
UMI was founded on the initiative of Sulawesi's ulama, scholars, and community leaders, under the UMI Waqf Foundation, and develops education and da'wah through teaching, research, community service, and character building. Its identity is expressed in three values: berilmu amaliah (knowledge put into useful action), beramal ilmiah (action grounded in accountable knowledge), and berakhlakul karimah (honesty, care, mutual respect, and responsibility) — in tune with an approach to empowerment that respects the needs and dignity of partners.
UMI Campus II, the event hub
Everything takes place at UMI Campus II, Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Makassar: registration at the Umar Bin Khattab Mosque forecourt, the Expo in Auditorium Aljibra, the opening in the UMI Sports Hall, the seminar and roundtables at the Faculty of Medicine, and the awards night at Taman Firdaus. See the venue list in Transport and Getting to the Venue.

Makassar, the City of Daeng
Makassar is the largest city in eastern Indonesia and the gateway to the region. From Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, delegations need only one road journey to reach the campus. The airport’s name tells the same story as this event’s mascot — Sultan Hasanuddin, the Rooster of the East.
In this city, welcoming guests is not a matter of ceremony. That is why Abdidaya 2026 does not stop at assessment and awards: it also leaves room for delegations to get to know Makassar — its food, its sea, and its people.
