Universitas Muslim Indonesia will welcome students, faculty supervisors, and student organisations from across Indonesia in Makassar.

Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) has been entrusted with hosting the Abdidaya Awards of the Student Organisation Capacity Building Programme (PPK Ormawa) 2026 in Makassar, 21–25 October 2026. The event brings together students, faculty supervisors, and student organisations from universities nationwide, along with the work and community empowerment practices born from PPK Ormawa.

UMI Rector Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Thalib, S.H., M.H., welcomed the trust, calling it both an honour and a responsibility. Student organisations, he said, are not only spaces for internal activities but can become a force for addressing community problems. He hopes the gathering in Makassar will foster shared learning and stronger collaboration among students.

The organising committee chair and UMI Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr. H. M. Kamal Hidjaz, S.H., M.H., said preparations are under way. UMI is preparing its best facilities and services for the delegations, with hospitality at the heart of the event, so that participants also take home memorable experiences of Makassar.

For UMI, hosting is also a chance to introduce the campus, Makassar, and South Sulawesi to students from across the country, and to strengthen the role of students in the "Impactful Campus" ecosystem.
