The last stage before participants were confirmed assessed results, empowerment impact, and sustainability through documentary videos and interviews.
The Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, held the candidate verification for the Abdidaya Ormawa 2026 Awards online via Zoom on 24–25 September 2026. A total of 126 implementing teams from 60 public and private universities — from universities and institutes to polytechnics — took part.
Verification followed the logbook assessment and the Progress Review (PKP) held on 8–10 September 2026. Shortlisted teams were confirmed by Letter No. 3545/DST/B2/DT.01.01/2026 dated 17 September 2026. Their programmes range from IoT- and solar-powered smart farming, circular economy and waste management, and local product development, to stunting prevention, disaster mitigation, literacy, tourism villages, and coastal community empowerment.
How verification worked
- Beforehand, universities, supervisors, teams, student organisations, and sustainability partners completed a verification questionnaire on the PPK Ormawa portal.
- Each team had a session of up to one hour, opening with a documentary video of at most five minutes.
- Interviews and clarification followed with university leaders, supervisors, team members, the student organisation, and partners; teams could also invite community representatives.
The video was the main medium: teams had to show the path from community problem to solution, empowerment process, results, and sustainability plan, backed by evidence such as outcome data, testimonials, and activity records. Belmawa urged teams to report honestly and measurably, and to see community service as a space for learning rather than only a race for awards.
In the end, 120 teams from 60 universities were confirmed as participants of the Abdidaya Ormawa 2026 Awards by Letter No. 3773/DST/B2/DT.01.01/2026. See the full list in the team directory.
